Please take a moment to review the following Terms of Use. If you disagree with any part of this Agreement, please do not use this Website.
1. Summary
(a) Definitions
Steve Hall trading as A Nonviolent God ("we" or "us" or "our") runs a subscription-based website (www.anonviolentgod.co.uk) (the "Website") where the user or member ("the User" or "you" or "your") can access weekly and monthly free and premium content ("Content") via a free or paid account ("Subscription/s") that is governed by the following terms of use (the "Agreement").
(b) Commitments
Our commitment to you is to publish consistent and engaging Christian content based around reading the Bible from the perspective of a nonviolent God. Through a Subscription we grant you a personal use license to access the Content we publish subject to the terms and conditions herein.
Your commitment to us is to use the Content we publish for personal use only within the boundaries set by our Terms of Use. By accessing the Website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and accept without modification all of our terms and conditions herein.
(c) Changes to this Agreement
We reserve the right to modify or replace any part of this Agreement. It is your responsibility to check this Agreement periodically for changes. Your continued use of or access to the Website following the posting of any changes to this Agreement constitutes acceptance of those changes.
2. Subscriptions
(a) Your Account
To access the bulk of our Content, you must become a member by subscribing. It shall be your own responsibility to ensure that any Content we publish on our Website meets your specific requirements before subscribing.
Creating an account requires you to provide us with your first and last name as well as a valid email address. By creating an account you are stating you are at least 13 years old.
Your Subscription may only be used by one person—a single Subscription shared by multiple people is not permitted.
It is your responsibility to maintain the security of your account, and you are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your account. We cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage from your failure to comply with this security obligation.
You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to or activity on your account or any other breaches or suspected breaches of security.
(b) Content License
Subscribing to A Nonviolent God grants you a limited, non-transferable license to access our Content for personal, non-commercial use only. A paid Subscription unlocks premium Content inaccessible to public users, free members, and paying members on lower tiers (if any). It is your responsibility to safeguard from other users the access your Subscription tier gives you to any premium Content.
See section 3 for further information.
(c) Email Newsletters
You are automatically subscribed to our email newsletters upon Subscription. You can adjust the newsletters you receive at any time.
(d) Payments and Renewals
Subscription payments will be charged on a pre-pay basis and will provide you with access to our Content for the monthly or annual period you selected.
Unless you cancel your Subscription before the end of the applicable period your Subscription will automatically renew and you authorise us to collect the applicable fee. Renewal payments will automatically be applied for the same monthly or annual period you previously selected and at the same cost you originally paid. Any promotional discounts are permanent and last until you choose not to renew your Subscription.
(e) Changing Plans or Billing Frequency
You can upgrade or downgrade your paid Subscription or change the annual or monthly billing frequency at any time. When changing plans, or billing frequencies, the change will take effect immediately. Any unused time on your previous plan will be credited to your account, and the charge for your new plan will be prorated.
If you subscribed on our limited-time promotional launch offer, you can change your billing frequency and retain your launch discount, but upgrading or downgrading your subscription tier will cause you to lose out on your launch discount. Please contact us using the support email in your account if you wish to upgrade or downgrade your subscription and, if you have not cancelled your subscription at any time since subscribing, we will honour your original discount on a different tier level.
(f) Cancellations
You may cancel your Subscription at any time and for any reason. Login to your account and follow the instructions to terminate your Subscription with us. After cancelling your Subscription, you can continue to access our Content until your current Subscription period ends.
Any promotional discounts are lost after cancellation and cannot be regained.
(g) Refunds
All Subscription payments are final and no refunds will be provided for any reason.
The only exception is that a partial refund may be provided if, by our own fault, we fail to meet our stated quota for publishing Content (see section 3) and do not rectify this lapse in a timely manner. Refunds will not be provided if this publishing lapse occurs for reasons outside of our control.
(h) Changes to Pricing
We reserve the right to change the Subscription cost at any time. This does not affect existing members already paying for a Subscription.
(i) Changes to Subscription Tiers
We reserve the right to restructure our subscription tiers or add-in additional tiers. This will not affect existing members who can continue to renew at their original tier even if we archive it (i.e., make it no longer available to new subscribers).
(j) Terminations
We reserve the right, without notice or liability, to deny you access to A Nonviolent God by deleting your account if we determine that your use of our services is in breach of these Terms of Use or of any applicable law or regulation. A refund will not be provided in the event of account termination.
If your account is terminated, you are prohibited from registering and creating a new account under your name, a different email address, or a false identity. In addition to terminating your account, A Nonviolent God reserves the right to take appropriate legal action(s), including without limitation pursuing civil, criminal, and injunctive redress.
3. Content
(a) Premium Content
A Nonviolent God publishes three types of Content on its Website: public articles, trial articles, and premium articles.
Public articles are free for all visitors to the Website to access. We will add to this collection once or twice in every calendar year.
Trial articles are free to read articles that are only accessible to the user if they subscribe to the Trial Member tier. A minimum of one article a month will be added to this collection. Usually, this will be the first article published each month, however, we reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to make it the second or third article based upon how well each article can "stand-alone" for users when it's written for and within a series. Any articles we make public will count as the trial article for that month.
Premium articles require a paid subscription to access. We commit to publishing at least thirty-eight premium articles a year, which, when added to the trial articles we publish, will result in a one a week publishing schedule.
A Nonviolent God reserves the right to alter the restrictions to Content on the Website, at any time, and at its sole discretion.
(b) Restrictions
You may access Content from your Subscription tier for your personal use, but A Nonviolent God hereby restricts you from all of the following:
- Republishing any Content in any media;
- Reproducing, duplicating, or copying any Content except in regard to the exceptions specified in section 3(d);
- Selling, renting, sublicensing, and/or otherwise commercialising any Content;

While under review, we have the right, but not the obligation, to remove the flagged content from the Website. After review, we have the right, but not the obligation, to remove the flagged content from the Website permanently, to leave the flagged content as is, to reinstate the flagged content as is if we removed it during review, or to amend or redraft the flagged content so it is not in violation of these Terms of Use.
We retain the right, but not the obligation, to limit or revoke the account of any user engaging in behaviour we deem to be inappropriate or offensive.
(f) Copyright Infringement
If you believe that material located on or linked to by us violates your copyright, you are encouraged to notify us immediately.
